"Index" Of The Dallas Music Scene?

There is a festival in Dallas happening on October 18 And 19, The Index Music Fest (for short).
When I checked the list of attendees, I had only heard of 3 groups / singers. As you may / may not know, Deep Ellum used to be a hotbed of all that is musical genius during the 80s and for a while after.

Just because I have only heard of three groups, doesn't mean the other ones are not decent.
So go ahead, plunk down $39.

Get Cultured? Yes, In The OC

The heat may have been getting to some peoples' heads.

Here's a way to cool off your head, if need be:
Go to the Oak Cliff Cultural Center. It is next to the Texas Theatre, and its address is: 223 West Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, TX 75208. I don't know the hours, but you can find all that out by calling 214-670-3777.
The background is, I found a small flyer for this place among my stuff recently (I went to a photo exhibit).
I realized I hadn't been there in a while and decided you all should get the benefit of knowing about it.

Mexico City Driving, And Parkland: A Cinematic Masterpiece Waiting To Happen?

Good afternoon,

The other day I was driving and I witnessed a runner running against the traffic. It was about 6:30 p.m.
Not super heavy traffic, but the road was not bare of cars. This was just a regular road, not residential, but not a highway.
The running experts will counsel you to run against the traffic. They claim it is safer, and that motorists will be able to see you better and therefore not hit you. I am in disagreement of this policy, for the following reasons: it is more distracting for the driver to see a human coming toward them, and sometimes, this will actually cause the driver to hit the runner. Also, I just prefer to run the same way as the traffic. Just as long as you pay attention!

Maybe the person I saw was just an oddball, because he was also running in the traffic lane, while no one was in it.

I was in Mexico City recently.
It was supposed to be a longer list, but, in any case, here are the major difference between driving in Mexico City and driving in Dallas, TX:
1. Mexico City: It may take you 1.5 hours to go about 25 miles.
Dallas: It may take you 1.5 hours, to go about 25 miles, but only if you are on LBJ.

2. Mexico City: You gaze out the window at kids performing tricks with fire, for money.
Dallas: You gaze out the window at construction workers showing off their NEON vests.

3. Mexico City: People honk their horn when something goes wrong.
Dallas: People just run into each other.

Yet a new topic:
There is a movie coming out soon called Parkland. It is based on events at Parkland Memorial Hospital. If the creators of the movie want to make a scary documentary, they should visit the real Parkland Hospital (meaning the ER).
Just kidding! I am a supporter of the hospital.

I found out about him a few years ago, from a friend. But I've started looking at the motivators more frequently, only very recently. He also has inspiring images on the site.

I Like To Go To The Bathroom By Myself

Hello and mildly good Saturday:

Recently, someone I know tried to talk to me while I was in a public bathroom stall.
Call me strange! But when I'm going to the bathroom, I like to be by myself.

It seems to me, bathroom stalls were designed for privacy.

(Different, if it is a close friend).

On August 15 at 7:30 p.m., you can sing along to cheesy but poignantly emotional tunes when Heart comes to the Gexa Energy Pavilion, in Dallas. It is located in Fair Park.
The tidbit from me is that I am glad they are still touring. Apparently women can rock at any age.

Jane's Addiction will be at the SAME locale on August 28.
