Welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere. During your visits to my blog you will see postings sometimes about music. I will talk about my favorite artists. I will talk about events and places to go. Since I am currently living at home, I'm North Dallas Homegirl and weblogista (Yes, I've been cracking myself up for 8 years).

Public Enemy At The Prophet Bar. Need I Say More?
Public Enemy at the Prophet Bar, 2548 Elm Street in Dallas, TX. This will be on December 29.
See if you can compete with everyone there by mouthing the lyrics better than they do.
Then
See what Flava Flav was like before he became a reality TV star.
I'm not a huge fan, but who could forget their iconic status?
The End,

Did You Get There All By Yourself? And, Trot? Trot.
I saw a quote recently in a book.
The book is titled, bluntly, "Thank You."
The quote may not be perfectly reproduced, and there is not very much on the internet about the mysterious quote! But I am sharing it anyway. You think about it.
"Somewhere along the way someone saw something in you, and that's why you are where you are today. Thank them."
--Dan Ward (who could be anyone from a professional rugby player to a "complete lifestyle resort collection.") It is according to my team's research!
The End. Get ready for the Turkey Trot
Only if you like trotting.
In a trotting way,
Alice

"Index" Of The Dallas Music Scene?
There is a festival in Dallas happening on October 18 And 19, The Index Music Fest (for short).
When I checked the list of attendees, I had only heard of 3 groups / singers. As you may / may not know, Deep Ellum used to be a hotbed of all that is musical genius during the 80s and for a while after.
Just because I have only heard of three groups, doesn't mean the other ones are not decent.
So go ahead, plunk down $39.
You can also go to the State Fair of Texas, which starts today.
A Big, 'Big Tex' Thank you for reading a little Texas blog!

Zoe Saldana Enlightens Us All
Hi there:

The other day, Thursday, I was watching The Today Show, and there was an interview with Zoe Saldana, who is in the new movie, Star Trek, Into Darkness.
I only watched the Today Show because I had been looking earlier for information about the past tornadoes.
Zoe Saldana stated, at one point, that she is so happy to be a part of a series "that was started with the idea of promoting peace."
(Not a direct quote).
Huh?
Zoe Saldana is not in this movie because Star Trek's plotline constantly promoted peace. She is in this movie because she is getting paid a ton of money (millions?).
I was trying to like her. But that was definitely a strange moment.
THE END.
Have a peaceful day.
Still listening to Regina Spektor. Although I have mentioned her previously, I want to do it again.

Whataburger Coffee Cups Are Great Sippy Cups And The Strokes Unleash On March 26
I was taking a sip of a Whataburger coffee, while I was at a stoplight. I was so grateful that the drink did not spill. The Whataburger cups remind me of sippy cups for children.
The Strokes' NEW album is set for release on March 26, 2013.
The End.
Thank you for reading.

Moving My Address Book Into The Modern Age
I rifled through my address book.
I have a bunch of little pieces of paper, some of which have peoples' numbers from 14 years ago. (The address book itself is from 14 years ago). I am slightly glad that I can hold on to a little piece of paper for so long.
But, I have decided I need to move this address book into the modern age. I'm going to have to start some kind of file with all of the addresses and numbers that I want. I know, there are Contacts on my phone, but a separate file would still be good.
I've been told my transitions are non-existent.
That's because, if you read north dallas homegirl, you've got to expect surprises!
The End!
Best wishes,
Alice

Why I'm A Hating A** B**** And Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys
Hello
These people

were loud--very loud--and annoying at a restaurant recently. Disclaimer: it is not the best picture, but, I took it from a few feet away.
It's one thing to chat at a restaurant. It's another thing, when you are disturbing the whole entire restaurant.
When I asked them to quiet down, one of them called me a Hating A** B****. I guess that's my New Year's Resolution, to hate everyone, and hate ON everyone.
Here is a link to my favorite blog of 2012. This blog is about, mainly, Beastie Boy Adam Yauch dying of cancer.
Forget all the Year In Review stuff.
Your New Year's Resolution(s)?
They should be: stick to your goals.
Don't follow the crowd, follow what you want to do.
Thank you for reading. Have a happy new year!!!!

Here is a picture.
I took it on Christmas eve in the grocery store. It is just a lonely little reindeer. Does anyone want some Bud Light?
