Welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere. During your visits to my blog you will see postings sometimes about music. I will talk about my favorite artists. I will talk about events and places to go. Since I am currently living at home, I'm North Dallas Homegirl and weblogista (Yes, I've been cracking myself up for 8 years).

Who Will Sing Hot Stuff, Now? Bikini Contest in Plano! Also A Worship Center Needs Grammatical Assistance.
Dear people reading,
Donna Summer died on Thursday. She died of lung cancer.
I am wondering who will sing Hot Stuff? (I was not a huge fan, but I am noting Hot Stuff because the song probably sticks in anyone's head who has been to a Disco Night). She definitely worked hard for the money.
Topic #2: Someone gave me a copy of dfw.com Ink. Obtained downtown at the El Centro College Campus. I had never, ever seen the publication.
I had high hopes when I read on the cover that its main themes are, "Nightlife. Style.Food.Music.Movies." All of which are essential topics.
My opinion was lowered when I turned to the big photo spread of the Twin Peaks Bikini Contest prelims. They were in Plano, where all fine bikini ladies hang out. Do Bikini Contests actually need "prelims"? How hard is it to pick the hottest person in a bikini?
To summarize: it seemed like dfw.com Ink had some moments of redeeming itself. These moments included play reviews, restaurant reviews, and standard but insightful pictures of the Miranda Lambert concert. But, I need more before I rush to the FREE newsstand. (Speaking of plays, did you know there is a place called 500, at 500 Singleton Blvd., that offers plays? On Thursday it is "pay what you can." And currently they are offering a play called Flesh World.)
At the Wal-Mart parking lot today, a guy handed me a small flyer-contraption for the Victory Life Worship Center on Pleasant Drive in Dallas.
I read the inside passage, which was a summary of the pastor's life history, from drugs to finding God. ("13 years living as a drug addict my life, hit rock bottom.")
The trouble is the passage has many grammatical and spelling errors. I think I am going to call the pastor and tell him that.
Their worship service is at 11 a.m. on Sunday at 1826 Pleasant Drive in Dallas, if you want to go.
Bye "y'all",
Alice
