"A Perfect Ride For Every Stride." And A Misguided Fashionista

Dear All,

One thing that impresses me about the new running shoes I bought today from Brooks:
Written on the side of their box is, "The Perfect Ride For Every Stride."
This was my creative way of taking a picture. You cannot see the whole phrase, but you can see some of it.

One thing that doesn't impress me:
I know it is 2012. But, what happened to Made In The USA?
I just assumed, and have assumed for a while, that Brooks shoes were completely made in the USA. Their headquarters are in Bothell, Washington.
They are not, instead they are made in China.
Needless to say, this cheeses me off (poor phrase, but you get the picture) because the company is not helping anyone in Bothell, Washington get jobs.
I turned to the bottom of my shoe box today, just to discover this: Brooks shoes are "Designed and engineered in Seattle, Washington USA. Manufactured in China."
Lovely. Just lovely.
Learn what's on Brooks' About page here.

As a result of my minimal research today, to find out where they are produced in China (I didn't find out!), I discovered the word press blog My Year Without China. Justin Centi tries to go a year without buying Chinese products.
What, no sweet and sour chicken?

More vital news: A misguided fashionista I saw yesterday was wearing a red and white tank top, with a neon pink bra showing. I think with jeans, I'm not totally sure.

Tumblr is my next goal.

That may be the last positive thought for a while.
