Work Your Butt Off... And For $35 You Can See George Quartz

It is highly inappropriate to give you a New Year's message when it is January 9. So here's my arresting proverb:
Be grateful. Find small things to be grateful for.
Go work your butt off this year.

While a confusing all-encompassing event broadcasting "culture," "fashion," food, art and music, (we're OK with the last 3), Artopia prances into Dallas Saturday January 17. Luckily, the venue is Centennial Hall at Fair Park. The address is 1001 Washington St, Dallas TX 75210. Tickets begin at 35.00, but then they rise.

The good news is, sometime between 8 pm and 11 pm, you can catch George Quartz. In the interest of full disclosure, the Dallas artist had a blog called La Maladie Tropical. Mysteriously, there have been no posts since about four years ago.

Tropically, see you in about a month!!
Thanks for the 2015 patience.

These were some T-shirts outside a Savannah, Georgia souvenir store.

Millennial Generation, You Are So Lucky?

I was listening to the news the other day, and there was a reference to the "millennials" or generation Y.

I was annoyed at first that I am not part of the millennial generation. (Again, I'm 36).

Then I thought about it, and quickly thought, would I really want to be a millennial? I don't think I would like it.

In summary, I'm pretty old... Not old, but old enough to make the references you see in my blog.

Happy June. Also Happy June 8.
(It is day 8 of the blogathon. It means I have to blog the whole month).

Troubles With A Document Box. And, Read Gloria's Awesome Blog.

Hello,

I bought a Super Stacker Document Box from Target. It is made by Advantus.
I tried to put a folder in the box, and it wouldn't fit.
So I thought, what's the point of a 'Super Stacker' Document Box, if it won't hold a folder CONTAINING documents?

On to:
My friend Gloria is the one who told me about the Blogathon, last year.
Thank you, Gloria, for telling me, and for your general awesomeness.
Make sure to take a gander at her blog, and in the process, see and buy her new book.

Thank you for reading, during the blogathon (all of June).

THE END

Clark Gable Catches Cheaters. And How To Have A Simple Day.

Day 2, will she keep going?

I watched the show, Cheaters, yesterday. This is filmed in Dallas.

It is a combination of bad television and a really great, delicious movie. Of course, I couldn't stop watching.

New item:
Here are some words which will help you have a simple day.

THE END.
It is important to be grateful, so thank you for any support during the blogathon (takes place during the month of June).

The End Is Near ... I Mean The Blogathon. Silly. And A Correction For Big Rig Dance Collective. And, Dharun Ravi.

Dear I-Wish-I-Was-Still-Eating-A-Hot-Dog-On-Memorial-Day Reader,

I am sorry, that yesterday the link to Big Rig Dance Collective's Kickstarter.com video did not work. I stand by what I said in yesterday's blog.
Well, I do get the point of their production. Maybe it's not my thing. Here is the actual video, just in case you're longing to see.

(A serious note).
In 2010, Dharun Ravi used a webcam to spy on a tryst between his roommate and another man. The roommate committed suicide shortly after that.
Here is a link to a Los Angeles Times story
. It is making news because Dharun Ravi has just issued an apology (Huh? Two years later?).
Very, very sad.

I checked for some Anderson Cooper news. I wanted to see if there was any "aftermath" to his kicking a guest who had had a lot of plastic surgery off his show. I did not find any, but I did find a link to his "sexy butt" taking out the trash. Yay, I think.

This post marks the Official End of the blogathon. In the future, I'll be posting less (Not once a month, however NOT every day). I decided to do this after my friend Gloria told me about it, and also encouraged me. Thank you, to anyone who took a chance and decided to read north dallas homegirl.

The tragic end,
Alice

Here Is My Sunday Post And, Check Out Marcel Hall's Video. Was He Really Just A Friend?

Hello Bloggerites:

Since I promised myself I would continue the blogathon (and I have to beat Gloria! I am just kidding), here is my Sunday post.

The Dallas International Festival (Wow. I didn't even know we had one. Just found out) was held yesterday. It's too late to go this year, but you can always go in 2013!

Music News: There is currently none. However, if you want to see Biz Markie, check out this video. Was he really just a friend?

Give Love, Peace, Hope and Luck.
