Tuesday I was in the dentist's office, and my dentist has a painting of black heroes on the wall. I was looking at the figure of Sojourner Truth--when I was younger ( much younger) I read a book about her and I liked it and was really inspired about her. Anyway I am thinking of starting my own business and Sojourner seemed to be saying, "you can do it!!" Is that cheesy??? Oh well, I always have weird moments like that.
Well, please go buy NINA SIMONE, How It Feels to Be Free. Or the blues gods will be mad.
