Chatting On The Plane, Or, Be Happy With What You Have

Recently I heard two guys chatting on an airplane.
Sitting directly behind me, I learned much about their lives. Both were probably younger than me. Both had a laundry list of possessions, as well as good jobs and other things.

EXAMPLE: "I visited Cape Town recently."
"I live in LA."
"My wife sees nothing but the ocean on her drive to work."
"I'm having a destination wedding."
"I visit Hawaii regularly."
"I just bought a new house in San Antonio."

I was surprised to find at the end that I wasn't really jealous. While possessions are great, I'm not sure if these two giddy co-passengers have lost sight of what's important.
I guess I wasn't jealous because I feel glad to be grateful for what I have, while still working toward the future.

The point: Be grateful for what you have NOW. Do not put all of your energy solely into possessions.

THE END.

It is Day 18 of the Blogathon.
Alice,
In a grateful way, north dallas homegirl.
