Good Afternoon

While at Chili's earlier, I decided to ask a waiter for some water, for my mom. (The waiter was in his mid- to late-30s).
The waiter I asked was not the "official" waiter for our table, but he seemed efficient, so I asked him for help with an additional glass of water. We wanted the water because my mom felt her current water had too much ice.
Said waiter stared at my mom's glass, then said, "She already has water."

I don't know about you, but I like my waiters best when they don't talk back!

I have liked the Dixie Chicks in the past: Dixie Chicks sometimes-member Martie Maguire was at Poor David's Pub in Dallas, Texas, recently, singing with someone else onstage.
This is not notable, except for 2 facts: Martie Maguire went to Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, and I wanted to mention the Dixie Chicks.
Martie Maguire is now in a side band called Court Yard Hounds. Honestly, when I listened to the song, "See You In The Spring,"--with a guest appearance by Jakob Dylan--on their web site, I couldn't wait for it to end.

I have been a large fan of The Strokes.
While the delectable band has had its irresistible moments as well as discouraging and sad ones, they have a new song out. It is "One Way Trigger." I was in 1/2 Price Books recently, and I saw this book, Super Sad True Love Story, and I remembered that I heard the author, Gary Shteyngart (say it 10 times fast), being interviewed on the radio (NPR) once. It is also a really good book. The end.
