Welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere. During your visits to my blog you will see postings sometimes about music. I will talk about my favorite artists. I will talk about events and places to go. Since I am currently living at home, I'm North Dallas Homegirl and weblogista (Yes, I've been cracking myself up for 8 years).

Whataburger Coffee Cups Are Great Sippy Cups And The Strokes Unleash On March 26
I was taking a sip of a Whataburger coffee, while I was at a stoplight. I was so grateful that the drink did not spill. The Whataburger cups remind me of sippy cups for children.
The Strokes' NEW album is set for release on March 26, 2013.
The End.
Thank you for reading.

I Like Waiters Who Don't Talk Back, Cheerful Music News Is All Over The Blog, And Gary Shteyngart! Gary Shteyngart!
Good Afternoon
While at Chili's earlier, I decided to ask a waiter for some water, for my mom. (The waiter was in his mid- to late-30s).
The waiter I asked was not the "official" waiter for our table, but he seemed efficient, so I asked him for help with an additional glass of water. We wanted the water because my mom felt her current water had too much ice.
Said waiter stared at my mom's glass, then said, "She already has water."
I don't know about you, but I like my waiters best when they don't talk back!
Cheerful Music News, in case you didn't read the title:
I have liked the Dixie Chicks in the past: Dixie Chicks sometimes-member Martie Maguire was at Poor David's Pub in Dallas, Texas, recently, singing with someone else onstage.
This is not notable, except for 2 facts: Martie Maguire went to Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, and I wanted to mention the Dixie Chicks.
Martie Maguire is now in a side band called Court Yard Hounds. Honestly, when I listened to the song, "See You In The Spring,"--with a guest appearance by Jakob Dylan--on their web site, I couldn't wait for it to end.
I have been a large fan of The Strokes.
While the delectable band has had its irresistible moments as well as discouraging and sad ones, they have a new song out. It is "One Way Trigger." The previous link will take you to pitchfork, a music site, and you may listen to the song if you scroll down a bit to the Soundcloud audio. Yes, I have been a rabid fan for twelve years.
The End.
Thank you for reading the blog.
Yes, I do appreciate it.

The new Kesha album, at Wal Mart. Yay?
And, I meant Ke$ha.
I was in 1/2 Price Books recently, and I saw this book, Super Sad True Love Story, and I remembered that I heard the author, Gary Shteyngart (say it 10 times fast), being interviewed on the radio (NPR) once. It is also a really good book. The end.

Lance, Lance, Lance: Watchou Talkin' Bout Lance?? And, A Picture Of The Sixth Floor Museum
Hello
Part 1: This is what is on Lance Armstrong's web site, currently, (Bio section):
"If scripted by Hollywood, the story would be dismissed as trite melodrama: A deadly disease strikes a promising athlete. Despite desperately thin odds, he manages not only to beat the affliction but also to return to the sport and win its top prize..."
The FYI to Lance is: you need to change that, asap!
Part 2 & what I think: Lance is a "hometown hero" from Plano, Texas. My dad used to like him (he is also a bike rider), and I always had an admiration for Lance Armstrong, due to his dedication and athletic ability, I guess. Having watched the Oprah interviews, I can't help but think: we are watching a 41-year-old man grow up before our very eyes.
In other news:
Mr. Drummond died.
What? All I have to say is, Whatchou talkin' bout Willis??
By the way, I used to think Mr. Drummond's daughter was perfect, and wanted to be just like her.
Dear Abby, whose real name is Pauline Phillips, has died. The story is from CNN.
Thank you for reading!
The End.
Alice
It is a picture of the Sixth Floor Museum in downtown Dallas.
It looks like a pretty nondescript building, if you don't know what it is.
Does anyone notice the Sixth Floor Museum actually has seven floors?
Ok I get that Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy from the sixth floor.
But--yes it's true--I always thought there were ONLY six floors.

$28.09 Is Too Much For Shampoo, And Why I Am A Complete Avoider
Good Evening,
I Am A Complete Avoider:
I went to Lush, and found out the shampoo I like and wanted to buy has gone up in price. It used to be 24.95. Already insane!
Now it has graduated to 25.95. The total price with tax is 28.09. I am starting to hate my Rehab shampoo.
So, back to the avoiding. When I went to look at the shampoos, the innocent-looking employee tried to draw me into a discussion about my hair.
"What type of hair do you have?"
"What don't you like about your hair?" I told him, "I don't need anything to improve my hair." Then, I walked away really fast. (Avoiding).
I took a sample of a Teavana tea, on my way out of the mall. I actually was not dying to sample Teavana tea, but I saw the samples and then was hungry and / or thirsty.
The twenty-something person gave me the sample, and then told me it was Youth Infusion tea. He told me the tea had apple, acai berry, and pineapple bits in it. I commented that Youth Infusion makes the tea sound like it will make you younger. (It has antioxidants!)
When he tried to get me to buy the box, I said, "I don't want to buy anything. I just wanted the sample." And then I walked away.
I am an avoider of people who are trying to get me to buy things I don't want to buy.
Hello to Captain Florence. I've heard through the grapevine that he reads my blog occasionally. Thank you.
The End.

Moving My Address Book Into The Modern Age
I rifled through my address book.
I have a bunch of little pieces of paper, some of which have peoples' numbers from 14 years ago. (The address book itself is from 14 years ago). I am slightly glad that I can hold on to a little piece of paper for so long.
But, I have decided I need to move this address book into the modern age. I'm going to have to start some kind of file with all of the addresses and numbers that I want. I know, there are Contacts on my phone, but a separate file would still be good.
I've been told my transitions are non-existent.
That's because, if you read north dallas homegirl, you've got to expect surprises!
The End!
Best wishes,
Alice

Megabus, Sugar Land For All You Sugar Mammas, And LEOGUN Is Not Going Away.
I took the Megabus and except for being dropped off in a parking lot, and someone vomiting in the bathroom, it was an ok trip. Megabus is just getting started here in Dallas.
Here are some pictures of Sugar Land, TX.
The best place in the world to see an old sugar factory.
An overview of Sugar Land.
Notice the master-planned nature of the community.
People in Sugar Land go to The Flying Saucer to eat their sugar.
Moving on to music:
The artist LEOGUN appeared at the Big D new year's eve celebration.
I saw them on tv. I don't know too much about them, but I kept trying to remember their name that night so I could look them up. I thought it was just one guy.
However, it is a group.
They are from London. I thought they were from Dallas. But they are still great!
The End.
Hope you are enjoying post-New Year's bliss.

Why I'm A Hating A** B**** And Adam Yauch of the Beastie Boys
Hello
These people

were loud--very loud--and annoying at a restaurant recently. Disclaimer: it is not the best picture, but, I took it from a few feet away.
It's one thing to chat at a restaurant. It's another thing, when you are disturbing the whole entire restaurant.
When I asked them to quiet down, one of them called me a Hating A** B****. I guess that's my New Year's Resolution, to hate everyone, and hate ON everyone.
Here is a link to my favorite blog of 2012. This blog is about, mainly, Beastie Boy Adam Yauch dying of cancer.
Forget all the Year In Review stuff.
Your New Year's Resolution(s)?
They should be: stick to your goals.
Don't follow the crowd, follow what you want to do.
Thank you for reading. Have a happy new year!!!!

Here is a picture.
I took it on Christmas eve in the grocery store. It is just a lonely little reindeer. Does anyone want some Bud Light?
