Hello blogger friends:
At the laundromat on Saturday, my mom and I met a Washing Machine Nazi. FYI, it was the laundromat on Montfort Drive and Alpha Road, so those of you in Dallas can have a mental picture.
As we were about to put our washing in the machine, this woman next to us (from here on to be known as W.M.N.) said, "I'm fixin' to use those two machines, so you have to find another one."
My mom said something to the effect of, "Well, I got here first, so I am going to use these machines."
W.M.N.: "Well, if you get your clothes in there first, you can have that machine."
We were washing some rugs. While my mom went to get the rugs from the car, I guarded the machines protectively, during which time W.M.N mumbled phrases to the effect of: "they think they run shit," "good thing there's a police station around here," (there isn't that I know of), and "I'm gonna slap one of these hos."
My mom returned with the rugs, and we victoriously used the machines without so much as a peep from W.M.N. So that was our laundromat experience--be careful about getting beat up next time you go to the laundromat.
I've been listening to MC Lyte, Bad As I Wanna B, lately. (I think it is from
1996, part of my old collection.) One good quote from track 2 is: "Have u ever ever, in your long-living life, seen a woman rock the mike like the one called The Lyte?" Everyone should have this CD in their repertoire to brighten their day. If you do have it in your repertoire (congrats) , you should listen to it over and over. just don't over do it with the dancing in your car.
This is National Novel Writing Month. If you want to find out more, you can go to www.nanowrimo.org. I'm not writing an entire novel but I am doing some writing.
Try to work "Shucky Ducky," into your normal everyday conversation (I'll explain why later),
Still a recessionista,
Bow down to MC Lyte (Shucky Ducky!),
