post turkey day rants

y'all:
Friday moanin' here:
everyone who reads this, you should check out: www.myspace.com/fizzydinopop.(not sure how to insert a link) A v. good band. They are from Denton, and this guy from the band played some of his music for me and it was really good. It's labeled as punk/pop but I thought it was more like cool electronic music.
I keep hearing the song "Bust A Move" on the radio, maybe this is because I am always listening to 107.5 and they seem to have it on their regular playlist, but this is beside the point. why do I keep hearing it??? Maybe God is trying to tell me to Bust A Move. If it improved NDH's love life then that would be a good thing. One time I was even dancing in my car to Bust a move.
the other day I was in Starbucks and I saw a girl dressed in a clown-like dress. no, really like she was a professional clown, I'm not just saying it was a clown-like dress. interesting attire.
Oh, if you go to 7-11 you should try the "Naked" smoothies... they are really good; been meaning to write this for a while. I tried one with a pineapple/citrus flavor, I can't remember exactly which flavor it was.

tragic day--its the demise of kharma

blogger friends:

it is a tragic day, bc Kharma cafe is closing. It is going to close on Halloween (scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaary!) and be replaced by an ugly bookstore. So if you live in Denton no more coffees, etc. etc. People wrote ironic comments all over the walls and I loved reading them.
its truly a tragic day. going to go mourn,

Sewing is Fun

hi yall,
blogging brunette bombshell did not leave you. I've just been busy.
Monday moanin' here: when I was younger and I used to read the Detroit Free Press there was a columnist (Bob Talbert) who always used to use the term "Monday moanin'" when he wrote a column on Monday (duh). So here's the Monday moanin': The other day I was in Kharma Cafe, a cool coffee shop in Denton known for its tight jeans and ironic outfits, and I commented to the boy working there, who had a black hat, glasses and a red bandanna up to his eyeballs (which he took off) that I liked his pants.
"Thanks, I spent a lot of time on them," he commented about the flowery and silky slacks.
Impressed that he made them himself, I told him that I couldn't sew, to which he just gave me a look that said, "poor you."
Speaking of MIA, who (whom?) I blogged about last time, she will be in my stomping grounds to sign autographs--at Good Records. She'll be there Sun. Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. NDH plans to attend. Later she'll do a show at the House of Blues.
going to go eat now, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase post some comments if you read this.

Go Buy MIA

Hi yall:

I just wanted you to know I just discovered MIA. I saw her at AUstin City Limits (which I will blog more about)--and she rocks. I'm not sure where she is from but I think Jamaica.
At CD World (favorite hangout) they told me her CD is selling like hotcakes.
Anyway go get it and maybe you can listen to it when you work out (which I won't be doing but maybe you can).

doma, shrink

my shrink said no to the interview, his quote was, "you can talk about me, you can say, 'My psychiatrist is a jerk, I like my psychiatrist, etc.'" So, I like my psychiatrist. Anyway I will not be bringing you any tales of Prozac or Paxil from him. Sorry.
The Dallas Observer Music Awards were just announced last week. I approve of the readers' choice for Musician of the Year, Christ HOlt. Very talented and a nice guy. I approve of the choice for Best Act in Town, Best Male Singer (Cory Watson), Best Instrumentalist (Eddie Thomas) and Best Album (Movements): Black Tie Dynasty. If you've read the earlier review you won't be surprised. Yay for Black Tie. For Best Web site/blog... hello? what about the content you are reading right now??? NDH is offended. Yay to The Granada Theatre for being selected best Live Music Venue. As far as some of the other categories, I have not heard of some of the awardees. I do like The Adventure Club on 102.1, chosen as Best Radio Show, with host Josh Venable.
Have to go watch an important TV show.
