Juanes: A Special Treat. And Who Else Have I Been Listening To?

Gentle Readers:
Here is a video from one of my very favorite artists, the Colombian singer Juanes.



The song is, "A Dios Le Pido." Yes, it is all in Spanish. Roughly translated, it means, "I Ask God."
The song is circa 2002.   However, I think it came out in the United States after that.

I have been listening to Bonnie Raitt, believe it or not.

The Bad Girls Club's Useful Tips For Living. And Could A Warrior Dash Be For You? And, I Almost Entered The Wrong Bathroom

While watching tv earlier,

(And here are the classy ladies of the Las Vegas cast).

I started watching a reunion show of The Bad Girls' Club . I am not a big fan, nor have I ever watched this show.

In the future, it will be on my list of potential time-wasters. Who knows more about living life to the fullest than "Bad Girls"?

If you are tired of marathons and 1/2 marathons, could a warrior dash be for you?
While I have heard of races like this before... I was reading the Dallas Observer today and was then spurred on to look at the web site. Yes, a mini warrior I want to be.
So far I have only glanced at the web site, but--dare I say--some of the events look slightly easy, like jumping on top of a pile of junk cars.
(The Dallas area race has already taken place for this year, but they have other locations).

As I came out of my test today, my mind was a blur from staring at little scantron circles.
With that vision still in my head, I almost walked into the men's bathroom.

Good Thing She Threw Out Her Tax Records. And Is A Strapless Dress The New Staple?

I saw a box outside my neighbor's house today. It read on the side, "Income taxes 1985."
Phew. It's a good thing she is throwing out her tax records, almost 3 DECADES LATER.
That box has outlived almost seven presidential terms.

Is the new must-have while taking a final exam, a strapless dress?

That is what I saw recently.
What is the point?

Nicki Minaj Songs Are Hard To Hum Along To. And, Who Hearts Jet Noise?

While needing a song to hum along to, the first song that came into my mind was a Nicki Minaj song.

I discovered that her songs are very hard to hum along to.
She will be in Grand Prairie, TX on July 29.

I have heard the song by Carly Rae Jepsen, "Call Me Maybe."

While the lyrics are okay, it is a very odd song.

I was kind of confused.
Shouldn't it be, "Call Me," or "Call Me Please?"

"I Love Jet Noise" read a bumper sticker that I saw today. Huh?
It was on a small, unattractive car driving erratically.

Also, the Matisyahu video that I posted on the previous blog is being restricted by Sony Music Entertainment. How dare they. You may still watch it on You Tube.

Matisyahu: 32 But Could Pass For Elderly, And Every Organizer Needs Printable Checklists

Hello "Gentle" Readers:

I am just discovering that: there is an artist named Matisyahu, who was born in Pennsylvania, is an orthodox jew, is 32 but looks older, and sings pretty well.

I heard that he is coming to Dallas, but apparently he is coming to the Showplace Theater in Thackerville, Oklahoma. It will take place on June 16. It is near the WinStar Casino.      

When I first heard his name, I thought the announcer was referring to "Modern Yahoo."
I ran it by a couple of friends, or Supreme Experts in all things related to music, and they had both heard of him.  


I am posting the video for the song, "One Day," and as you know, only songs and artists that pass my picky standards get posted on n.d.h.

Give us more music:
I watched a webcast of the group Gomez at the New Orleans Heritage and Jazz Festival. I am not super into this band (A few years ago--more like seven years ago--I heard they were really great, then bought a CD and listened to it a couple of times). On the webcast the band was cool, however their songs seemed very long. 

My friend Gloria told me about the site I Heart Organizing. 
Although the girl who writes it may be an over-the-top organizer (obsessed), it is a good site to get ideas from or direct your organizing energy. She has printable list paper!
What every organizer needs! And yes, the site is good for someone like me, who saves small, miniscule pieces of paper that she does not need.

Special Report: A Woman Was Examining Her Coupons in Walgreen's And I Need Organization Help. Also, Welcome To Random Picture Day.

Earlier I was in Walgreen's. A woman-- definitely elderly--wearing white nurse-like shoes and blue pants, stood in the first aisle before she began her shopping experience. She had white hair to match the shoes. She was intently and dedicatedly looking over a Walgreen's coupon book. She looked like she wanted to get the most out of that coupon book.
I was a little shocked that anyone would spend that much time looking at a coupon book once they are at the store. After strict meditation while perusing the stationary aisle, I was impressed by the coupon lady. She was prepared, damn it. Everyone should smartly save like her.

I am pondering that I need some organization help. I need a "Clutter-buster" to come to my house. I have an odd array of items I have saved for a long time. These include, but are not limited to, receipts, "To-do" lists from three years ago, and nail polish that has turned into two layers. Maybe I will raffle them off. I feel like a mini-hoarder.
I have a habit of saving tiny pieces of paper that I have written things on. I need Rachael Ray or Martha Stewart to help me. How do you get the knack for great organization?

Random Photo of the day: I recently attended the Big D Marathon in Dallas. It was April 15.
At the start, a girl next to me was wearing knee socks, or running leg warmers, whatever you want to call them. She was super perky, and singing "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye, really loudly. She was so annoying that I had to take her picture.

I know it is a strange picture of her butt, but that is all I could get.

I Listened To Licensed To Ill Over And Over In Fourth Grade. And, A Green Man Invades Campus

Dear and Dedicated Readers,

I heard a Selena song today called Amor Prohibido. The song is a slowed-down, acoustic version of the original Amor Prohibido (Basically, Forbidden Love). It was on 107.5 FM.
Of course, I truly like Selena.
I am wondering, about 17 years after her death, is the song experiencing a resurgence?

Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, or MCA has died. He died after cancer that originated in the salivary glands.

As a "tribute," I am inserting the cover to their album, Licensed To Ill.

I listened to the album over and over in fourth grade. The Beastie Boys have momentously influenced people my age in many ways.
I remember that the album was the "hot" album to get (don't ask me why there were "hot" albums in fourth grade).
And yes, I listened to it repeatedly, like a snail glued to the cassette player.

A green man was visiting Richland College in Dallas today. When I asked him his name, he said, Mr. Green.

Adele Gets A Thumbs Down. However, You Can't Go Wrong With Kimbra

The Blogathon continues. If you don't know I plan to blog all during May. 

In Music "News":
I decided not to post the video for Adele's song, Rumour Has It.

As an encore presentation, here is the "mashup" video of Kimbra singing "Two Weeks" and "Head Over Heels."
Kimbra has a plentiful voice and has Rockin' bangs.
Her bangs cannot be matched. As I pondered a selection of videos to post today, I thought, "you can't go wrong with Kimbra."     


Jessica Simpson (a Dallas resident) has had a baby girl. This is also wildly unimportant on the tiniest scale of importance that could possibly exist.

I witnessed a Hummer-looking vehicle in front of me today. It was a "Hummer", we'll say, with odd metallic strips bordering the left and right of the back window. The metallic strips did not add anything to the car.
There was no indication on the back of the car that said the make of the car. I assumed this lettering was a requirement on all cars. How very odd...
