Welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere. During your visits to my blog you will see postings sometimes about music. I will talk about my favorite artists. I will talk about events and places to go. Since I am currently living at home, I'm North Dallas Homegirl and weblogista (Yes, I've been cracking myself up for 8 years).

iJump for iPhone ????? And Ugg... Always A Fashion Dilemma
(A CELL PHONE IS JUST A THING USED TO COMMUNICATE WHEN YOU NEED TO... that's what your grandmother and probably my dad would say).
Solid Readers:
Believe it or not...
my habit of checking my iPhone "lately" has interfered with: studying, exercising, and leaving the house.
(And, after distress earlier this semester, I have decided to put a moratorium on facebook and other sites, whenever I want to!
With facebook, I control it, it doesn't CONTROL ME.
Gosh darnit).
The method for me to get myself to stop looking at the iPhone is to say to myself, "stop" and then just put it aside.
I don't think that 20 or 30 years ago, people envisioned that cell phones would become miniature time suckage machines.
Speaking of cell phones:
My cousin Rafael (mentioned in this blog), who is from Mexico, and I, were discussing a pink camouflage wallpaper choice.
When he mentioned that he feels a typical "Texas" outfit always contains: camouflage, jeans, and Ugg boots (The link contains a surprise celebrity that will knock your socks or Uggs off).
I will let you decide on that one, gentle and shrewd reader.
the end.

Should Construction Vehicles Be Painted Pink? And Check Out Kimbra's Rockin Bangs
Hello All:
When I first started writing this blog (2007), I used to say "back with a vengeance" at the beginning of the blog. Now I am thinking, what does "back with a vengeance" really mean????
Does it mean said blogger is writing with a vengeful spirit? Does it mean "I am back, and now I am going to take revenge?"
So now I will just say, I am back. I am here, and not going anywhere!
The other day I was driving.
During a large amount of rush-hour traffic, I noticed a construction vehicle to the right moving with traffic. It was on LBJ (lyndon b. Johnson interstate), and it was majorly distracting. Actually, there were two vehicles at once that were construction-type vehicles. They both happened to have their slow, annoying lights on at the same time. I know that construction vehicles need to warn others of their presence, but....
That day it just seemed more unsafe than safe!
I am not sure if the solution is to paint the construction vehicles pink, so everyone can see them without the flashing lights... however, the only drivers that need flashing lights, on MOST occasions... are ambulance drivers, fire engine drivers, and the police.
Your drive would be much more pleasant.
A "Behind the Scenes With North Dallas Homegirl" featured video may be coming.
( I have not seen any fashion mishaps, except!... High-heel red booties with tight jeans).
The End, Gentle Readers.

I discovered the singer Kimbra today. She has incredibly cool bangs. She has rockin' style. I am even jealous. The video contains 2 songs: Two Weeks and Head Over Heels, which is a cover of (gasp) a Tears for Fears song. She will be playing 2 shows at South by Southwest in Austin, March 14. So, look up the details, and Just Go.

"What Are You Doing? Being a Party Boy?" And "There Were About 50 Cops. It Looked Like They Were Doing Nothing."
"Gentle" Readers!
In honor of Jack White's performance on Saturday Night Live this past Saturday... I am posting this video of, Fell In Love With A Girl by The White Stripes. I am a large, large fan of the group, which is now no more.
Biographical Info, about me, not The White Stripes!:
I first heard this song in 2001, on a Detroit radio station, which is called 89X. The White Stripes hail from Detroit. I loved the song immediately.
Now I am realizing I probably heard the song before it was officially released. No dis to Jack Whites current music... his SNL songs were great... but, I wanted to pay tribute in my own way!I have seen him in concert. My report is that he lives up to the claims of talent.
Overheard recently as I was leaving a class at Richland College about 8 p.m.... the girl on the phone was maybe in her mid to late 20s, with heavily tattooed arms, speaking LOUDLY and kind of annoyingly as she walked to her car: "What are you doing? Being a Party Boy??"
(I kept trying to listen, after this, however she exited too fast for me to continue my research!)
Numerous questions crossed my mind. 1.) Who was the Party Boy? 2.)Why do I not meet Party Boys? and 3.) What party was there on a WEDNESDAY? (The last question perhaps bugged me the most. I am slightly exaggerating, but still).
My dad, who is always ranting and raving about something, and has not really been mentioned on the blog, visited the new Margaret Hunt Hill bridge in Dallas on opening weekend. After returning, he gave his account, which included this documentation:
"There were about 50 Cops there. I don't know what they were doing. It looked like they were doing NOTHING."
Ha.
This is not a dis to any police officers, it is just a comment.
Fashion "No No": Recently I viewed a girl in my class (the class shall remain nameless), wearing polka dot flip flops, neon toenail polish, and what could only be called running shorts.
Although I tried to limit any negative staring, her choice of everything can only be called tragic.
The flip-flops were bad enough, and she should have stopped there. The neon polish made it worse, and the running shorts are in the "I wear anything, including sweatpants if I want to" category. To find out what I think about sweatpants, look into my previous posts.
To sum it up, she was just a: No. No. No.
The End.
Simply,
ndh
