Doing a longer post is tops on my list....
The other day I was in Tom Thumb grocery store. I noticed an 8-year old girl with tiny braids in her hair talking on a cell phone in the DAIRY AISLE. As I approached, she seemed to be telling a friend on the phone very emphatically: "It's just NASTY. It's nasty, nasty, nasty." I stood gaping in horror. I strained to hear WHAT, IN THE WORLD was so nasty, but I did not hear much of the rest of the conversation, which was the disappointment of my day.
A few minutes later, during the same very entertaining visit, I saw her walking in another part of the store, and she was STILL ON THE PHONE. You be the judge, gentle reader.
I have been listening to: Kesha. I bought a recent double CD with the Animal and Cannibal CDs both inside. I am not sure why she is so popular sometimes. Despite this, I still like her CDs. Alot. Oh, it's Ke$ha, I mean.
The weather is always windy, lately. When is all the wind going to go away??
Keep being NON-festive.
Love,
alice

Welcome to my little piece of the blogosphere. During your visits to my blog you will see postings sometimes about music. I will talk about my favorite artists. I will talk about events and places to go. Since I am currently living at home, I'm North Dallas Homegirl and weblogista (Yes, I've been cracking myself up for 8 years).

Life Is ... You Fill In The Blank
Gentle Readers:
Brief but to the point:
I do not enjoy seeing holiday outfits on people ... do you?? (One or two accessories is fine, but)... today I saw a nurse (LVN)at a Dallas clinic (in Garland) wearing halloween scrubs with candy corn, and treats on them. I normally see these types of horrific displays at Christmas time only, but apparently people are getting more Daring and Spooky with their clothing right now. I do not see how this is attractive. Let me be the one to say it : during the festive days leading up to Halloween, (unless it is a real halloween costume), any ghoulish outfit makes you look, either, like: a fat pumpkin, OR a walking bag of candy.
It's the top 3 irresistible highlights for the day (Comment with your own highlights, gentle readers !) : Today, I ...
woke up early to take a test...
received a poke, when I got blood drawn (at the same clinic where I spied the nurse) ...
and
received an unwanted dis (that is all I will say right now, but think of the opposite sex)...
Oh yeah, I am back and better than ever.
Thank you, god, for:
the 3-in-one special.

bbb is back ...
I promise to do a post soon.
COMING SOON, I swear...
A friend (W. is his name) told me yesterday that "no one is original anymore." This could be interpreted in many ways.
But, I do not think this is true.
Thank you for visiting.
Been doing things, and going to school.

If You Are Debating Between This Blog Post, And Another Blog Post, Read This One
Of course you should always read my blog over any other.
That is my explanation for the above statement, and title of this blog post.
I am dividing the blog into two main subjects of interest. (These are only Guidelines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Exclamation mark overkill. You may proceed to the area that most interests you:
I. Traveling Milk For Babies
and
II. What I am Worrying About
In the interest of Me Wanting to Eat, I will keep everything as short (succinct) as possible:
I. Traveling Milk for Babies.
I was in Saint Monica church in Dallas earlier today. It was an afternoon mass. I sat near the back so as to make a Quick-As-Lightning escape just in case I became severely disillusioned or bored.
As I casually glanced to the left, I saw a chubby baby in a stroller, about nine months old. I observed that the boy was not crying and how patient he seemed to be. Soon after, I noticed the back of his stroller. The baby had a BACKPACK OF TRAVELING MILK with him. I was ... ALMOST JEALOUS. I have never seen this, ever...
The backpack had a straw that led to the baby's mouth so he could take a drink of milk whenever he pleased. The infant's very chubby mother seemed to think this was nothing new. Yes, dear readers, I did stare for a few seconds at the BACKPACK OF TRAVELING MILK. While not the most exciting thing in the world, the BACKPACK OF TRAVELING MILK seemed to make the baby happy, and said luggage certainly made my church trip more exciting.
II. What I am Worrying About
For those poor souls who skipped to this portion, the only, singular thing I am worrying about is ... How Can I Choose A Retail Electric Provider?????????????????????????????????????????
Question mark overkill.
(I got this from an Oncor advertisement).
Other than that, in my life I am reading about Patient assessment and listening to the BBC News at night.
Good luck choosing an electric provider and also the proper detergent,

made you look !
Gentle Readers:
Here are the facts. Just the facts:
When outside of the homeless shelter today (The bridge), there was a woman (description: maybe in her 50s, wearing a white low-cut T-shirt, very skinny and missing some teeth).
She said she needed to "go to the bank" (I don't know which bank) and to "get some warm clothes." When I gave her the remains of a cheese omelette with a plastic fork to eat it with (I do not carry cheese omelettes around on a regular basis. Just had one with me from earlier), she said: "Girlfriend, I done died and went to heaven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (exclamation mark overload).
I am writing this briefly, so you will get a quick synopsis.
I'll do another post soon.
Go collect something, or SOMEONE you love.

New Tantalizing Post
Hi,
I will do a post soon...
I was able to see The Karate Kid (with Jaden Smith, and Jackie Chan). During the beginning of the movie (and, some of the rest of the movie) I became exhausted with watching Jaden Smith pretend to be a sad, lonely child who has just moved to China.
I enjoyed the Detroit, MI scenes at the beginning of the movie ... but how many kids from Detroit really move to Beijing?
Enough anti-Jaden Smith rambling.
adios, Gentle Readers,
Alice

Go Paperless. Or, go braless. Paperless, Braless, What's the Difference?
Dear Readers:
As usual this post will be a compendium of random thoughts.
I will try to provide some guidance so that you don't say, "W.T.F.," but if the Guidance isn't enough, then you are left to navigate the blog and post with your Expert Cyberspace Skills only. Feel free to leave any comment you want. Whoa, but don't overload the server, now.
Why is everyone telling me to go paperless? I am a big proponent of the environment and I understand that it saves trees (I do try to go paperless when possible). In general, people should go paperless when they can.
But ...
I refuse to stop buying books or carry all of my books on an electronic device (like a Kindle or E-reader), just so I can "go paperless." ( I saw an ad that touted this advantage the other day, that is what sparked this thought ). I'm not against the Kindle, just do not want one right now.
I am tired of seeing "go paperless" constantly. Also, if there was no paper and no use for it any more, wouldn't we have too many trees? Now, gentle readers, that's a dilemma.
I prefer to go braless. Not REALLY, but I wanted to write that.
The other day I spoke to a homeless man (near Harry Hines Blvd. and Mockingbird in Dallas) (maybe in his early 50s, with a sad look in his eye, and a very colorful T-shirt ) who, after I gave him a dollar, told me: "my foot is so swollen," (I am not sure what was wrong with his foot) and "my dog just had babies." We didn't have much time to chat, so I was left to ponder, where does he keep his dog? In the homeless dog shelter?
And, how can he afford a dog? I'll have to ask when I'm not stopped at a stoplight.
Delicious CD / song you've been waiting for, but were afraid to ask:
Get the 3 oh! 3 album, Streets of Gold. (Okay, it's a little teenage-ish, are you surprised????????????????????????????? question mark overload) A good song on there is My First Kiss (duet with Kesha, or... if you prefer... Ke$ha). This album just came out in June. The group is from Boulder, Colorado, and basically they are white boys who rap and sing. Here is a link for you: 3Oh!3, from wikipedia.
I am working on changing the layout of the blog, so don't be surprised if you see future changes.
Okay, gotta go before I over use the bold symbol, Gentle Readers,
love,
Alice

Hi. Fresh Post Coming Up
I
will
do
a
post
soon.
When I was in Chick Fil A earlier, I ordered a Peach Milkshake. The cashier took a long time making my milkshake, leading me to wonder ... Did they run out of peaches? Then: Maybe Georgia ran out of peaches and could not ship them to Texas. Maybe the whole world ran out of peaches.
Then, the friendly chick fil a worker returned with my shake. He said he had to open a new batch of peach flavoring.
Okay, so no one ran out of peaches. Or any other fruit.
My
bad.
I have been meaning to post more on my blog, just haven't had the chance.
Do check out the Metric CD. It is called "Fantasies" and has the song, "Gold, Guns, Girls," on it. (Sort of rock and 80s music all at once). I think it is from 2009.
Um, peace, love, and all that goes with it.
I would say happy fourth but I am not feeling patriotic.

North Dallas Homegirl Is On A Roll
Readers:
Okay, writing this blog post fast, and I would like to title it, "Random Things That Have Happened -- The Randomer The Better." Even though I may only write about one random thing (not plural), please don't critique!
Today I was in the Chase Building near the UT-Southwestern Campus waiting for a meeting to decide whether I would be able to re-take an EMT class.
I was sitting in the "Food Court" (hardly a food court). Apparently my seating location was in close proximity to a shortcut to the main aisle. While I was studying, at least a dozen mall-walkers (really, Office-Walkers) cut through the handy little shortcut. Probably, today I saw more indoor-office-exercisers than I have ever seen in my life. By the tenth one, I wanted to throw something at them. Alas, I did not have any tomatoes, only chocolate chip cookies that I did not want to throw.
Reading about front-impact Motor Vehicle Collisions. So titillating.

Can't Think Of Anything Mind Blowing To Write Here
hi Gentle Readers:
I was at the homeless shelter today (the Bridge on Corsicana Street in downtown Dallas), volunteering. While I was standing near the librarian's desk, a man (maybe in his mid-60s, with gray hair, wearing a striped shirt) came up to the desk. This is what transpired:
Curious Man: How many days is it until the 24th?
Me: What?
Curious Man: How many days is it until the 24th?
Me: (Looking at the calendar on my phone) It's 12 days until the 24th.
Curious Man: 12 days?
Me: Yes, 12 days. (Now the curious man started to look very disappointed).
Me: Why, what happens on the 24th?
Curious Man (walking out of the library): I get my check !!
After this: I stared at the back of the curious man, envisioning him wiling away the hours until the blissful 24th of June.
A friend told me about the band The National. No, I have not listened to a single song on any of their albums yet, but that does not mean you should not visit them on Wikipedia (they are from Cincinnati, Ohio): www.wikipedia.org/thenational
Other than that, the latest update: only recent occurrence bugging me is encountering babyish-acting people. I'm not sure if this expresses it enough. I will try to express this sentiment better next time.
Go and ride a bike. Or, pick a flower.
It's up to you, damnit! I'm just the innocent blogger.
Peace,
Alice

Oh, One More Thing
Oh, One More Thing:
I will do a post soon, little obssessive readers.
I am listening to: the radio, National Public Radio, and Notorious B.I.G.'s "I Love It When You Call Me Big Poppa." The other day I got a strange look when I was playing that song in my car.
Not everyone appreciates the talent of Notorious B.I.G. and grave beauty of SOME OF his songs.
what a shame.

Maybe, baby ...
Gentle Readers:
Maybe today was not a good day to be awake.
I did go to church and felt blessed ... almost drank some wine, which would have make church (St. Monica in Dallas, TX) even more of the highlight of my DAY than it already was, but I did not.
No wine on a hot, sunny Sunday.
I will entrance you with future posts, do not worry.

Time To Explain Photo Above
Time to Explain Photo Above:
The striking photo above is: my attempt at macro photography using the weeds next to Zoo Music in Garland, TX as the subject. Don't they look weedy? I like to practice macro photography, however the results from this close-up photography can VARY GREATLY. This could be a huge understatement.
To Jay: (sorry to be so personal, but this will only take a few sentences!) Two of the volunteers have left Club Speakeasy (Jay was asking about a writing class at the homeless shelter). Me and Beth are still doing it on Tuesdays. What did you mean by your comment?
Ok, back to posting for general public.
Meanness sucks.
This is in relation to many happenings, however one in particular:
If you have not heard of Phoebe Prince, check out the latest issue of People Magazine.
I admit that People is not the most trustworthy or wonderful news source (with high journalistic standards!), but if you see it, grab it anyway if you can. Phoebe Prince is a 15-year-old who killed herself a few months ago in the Boston area. (Also: I first heard about this case on the BBC news, broadcast on national public radio).
Again, mean people suck. In relation to the Phoebe Prince / bullying incident: I do not understand why high school bullies would allow themselves to get out of control, or what enjoyment bullies gain from being cruel to other people.
I will post a link soon if I can.
Peace, and give: Love, Peace, Hope and Luck. (Can you "give" luck? Not really but it sounds good),

If you are looking for something that is not the usual Danielle Steele, or Dr. Seuss (Ha. Ha.), then read Nice Girls Don't Get the Corner Office by Lois Frankel. If you are a girl, go ahead and read it, or if you are a guy and want to read it anyway, then reaed it.
Bye for now, Gentle Readers. I am sick, for now.

Posting, Posting, Stop Me Before It ... Goes ...Awry
Wal Mart story:
I was at Wal Mart the other day. When I got to the cashier, I was hungering to know if they carry smaller containers of the "Great Value Soy Milk" other than the one I was buying. I asked the cashier (in her mid-30s, she was skinny and probably foreign) if Wal Mart carried smaller cartons of the delicious, healthy beverage. Whenever I asked the question, she just said, "you do not want this one?????"
It took me a while to realize: she did not understand a word I said.
Ethnic enlightenment at Wal Mart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! excl. mark overload.

dear Gentle Readers:
I watched 2 videos in my photography class that were absolutely heinous. I do not like when people show videos because they don't want to teach.
Both videos were from the 80s and very scripted.
I am trying to evolve the blog into a more developed weblog.
Whatever happened to ... (This is a New Segment):
Whatever happened to ... Fruit Roll Ups?
If you are pleased with the new segment, let me know.

Post-A-Holic
Gentle, cool readers:
I call this on the Compendium of Everything post. I would like to write more but for various reasons, the following is all right now.
I would like to go to the Alkaline Trio concert in Dallas. I do not know if I am going.
When I started this blog I told myself I was going to write about all kinds of topics, including how I am feeling. One segment of how I am feeling today is:
I hope I am not too modest.
I hope I am not too kind at risk to myself.
I hope I am not unaware that I should push myself harder.
These are things I have pondered before but they seem to be coming up again. To use a Spanish phrase, I have been "muy contenta" lately, however I still wanted to write about these misgivings (Does anyone really use the word "misgivings?"). Muy contenta means happy.
A true scenario: I was in Subway the other day (Richland College). After the first Subway guy (Sandwich Artist) started my sandwhich, he left it on the "Sandwich Artist Work Area" for Sandwich Artist Number 2 to finish. Sandwich Artist Number 2, who had big hoop earrings and too much makeup (hmmmmmmmm, was she also a Makeup Artist?) took a really long time to finish the poor sandwich and was helping people who had not been in line very long. This led me to implore, "Can somebody please finish my sandwich?" Of course, Sandwich Artist Number 2 got upset.
But, this was not a very nice way to treat my Poor Sandwich. As usual, those are just the facts. I just report them.
Gotta go.
Peace, and Hair Grease.

Just So You Know
Gentle Readers:
I am tired of people in cars shouting things. Maybe because it is nice weather, I have seen certain people shouting things to me in my car while the window is open. This has ranged from "sexy" to "mujer". It is not my dream to meet people by this method.
I hope that the shouting and the random yelling of greetings stops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Make sure you stop by the Farmer's Market (near Pearl Expressway and Harwood Street in Dallas) Find delicious fruit, vegetables and other items.
Working on a delicious speech.
I have not seen any famous people or I would update you.

The Above Picture For You
Hi:
The above picture was taken at White Rock Lake (?) last year. The cluelessness of the question mark is because I do not remember exactly where it was taken.
Listening to: a CD of the Bible called "The Bible Experience" (I've been listening in church. Apparently Saint Paul could find no one else to write to but The Corinthians Didn't he have any friends to write things to???) and other delicious items.
gotta go,

post 165
Hi:
You are the first lucky reader to read Post 165. You win:
A free shamrock sketch.
and
A free green highlighter.
Two Items to discuss:
1.) I heard a friend talking on the phone Tuesday to his mom, and he kept calling her "ma'am."
I was briefly stunned. When he said it, it was not in a sarcastic way, but a polite way. It was coming from someone who has been in jail. It seemed out of character for a moment.
It must be a Southern thing.
Update for You.
I am listening to: The Winning Walk, a Christian radio program on 90.9 FM in Dallas. Do not ask me why. I accidentally turned to that station. Also ordered a free brochure which I cannot wait to receive. No, I am not ultra-christian, as I said, I just turned to that station. It was an accident, I swear.
Also: listening to Julian Casablancas, Phrazes 4 The Young.
I am reading: Two Dave Eggers books, Lit by Mary Karr, Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom.
I do not know if the link at the end of the post will work. However, I will try.
Being my most authentic self,

Tantalizing Feel Ups in McDonalds, Irving
2 items for you to read: 1.) Feel Ups in Mc Donalds, and
2.) Alice in Wonderland movie.
Yes, this Numbering Technique will work out pleasantly.
I was in McDonalds in Irving, TX (near 635 and MacArthur Boulevard) earlier today. There was a couple (maybe in their early 40s, both well dressed -- the woman had a Gucci purse or similar handbag) in the McDonalds enjoying the atmosphere and waiting for their food.
WHILE waiting for their food, the man decided to feel up the woman's butt. (I was wondering about the root cause of this -- not feeling up the butt per say -- but do guys feel special doing it in a public place?) Anyway, this act is not unusual, but it did seem weird at 9 a.m.. All I will say is: it wasn't so much a feel as a grab. AND since you are probably asking, is it my place to critique (yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)?
My answer is: I will keep my feel-ups in private places, Thank you very much.
2.) alice in wonderland: I saw it, and got in free using a coupon I had saved from about 10 years ago. Yes, that is Resourceful.
Several aspects of the story have changed. However, I like that Alice still falls down a rabbit hole, meets a white rabbit and also meets a Cheshire Cat and a Caterpillar.
Not in that order.
I wonder what Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) would think.
Also, it appears Alice is (sometimes) becoming a popular name in Clothing Lines. This can be a good trend.
I hope they do not start making Ugly Clothes under the name "Alice."
Peace,

Girl Scout Robbery Alert
Hi :
I bought a package of Girl Scout Cookies a couple of weeks ago, and they were $3.50 a box.
Can 7-year-olds conduct Highway Robbery? Outside a Wal-Mart???????????????????????????????
One book to look into is Lit, By Mary Karr (published in 2009). I haven't read enough to know if it's Excellent and Delectable, but so far her musings have kept me reading. The book is a memoir.
Peace (and Peace in your daily life!),

New Photograph It's not Fake.
I took the photo above a couple of weeks ago at: the corner of South Garland Rd. and Avenue D. in Garland, TX. It is of a raspas and elotes (Snow Cones and Corn) store. When I went, it was totally deserted. Since it is on a corner it is a ghost corner.
I looked in the front windows, and nobody was there. So, if you want a snow cone, DO NOT Go There. Look for: the ice cream man instead.
It still says North Dallas Homegirl at the top.
Maxin' and Relaxin' (I stole that from DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince),

Read Below For Your Health
Dear Readers:
I have come up with a new magnet. It is for The Magnet Project. The picture is of Joe Ponder, 49 .

anyway, this is going to be an exciting new magnet to sell.
When I took his picture today, I talked to him for a few minutes. He was selling Street Zine newspapers at St. Paul and Elm Streets, in Dallas.
When I asked how long he had been homeless, he said "too long." He said he likes selling Street Zine because it gives him extra loot. I took his picture a few times. While I took the pictures, a friend was telling him to: "look natural."
I am listening to: Alkaline Trio, This Addiction.
Peace. and love.

Why Do Most People Who Walk Into Whataburger Seem Like Characters?
I do not know why this is true (See Above). But, I thought I would write it just to confuse you, Dear and Gentle Readers. And yes, it is true about Whataburger.
Hoodlums at the Bus Stop Category: (I am taking the bus more now so that I don't have to drive in traffic and environmental reasons).
I was at a bus stop today, and there were two younger kids there. One of them (he was about 16 or 17) had a large cast, or brace on his leg. The other one was a little bit younger.
Moral of the Story: They kept trying to hitchike, and when I told them that their destination was not too far to walk, the older one said, "Not With This Thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and pointed to the cast. Oh yeah. My Bad. This boy (older one) tried to get rides from at least 3 or 4 cars, including one woman driver by herself, and they all said, "No." Nobody wanted to pick up Hoodlums at the bus stop. Poor Hoodlums. Okay I do not know if they were Hoodlums, but it's fun to write.
Peace, and may the Chilled-ness be with you. I am listening to: Jazz and Gomez (I don't know the name of the CD).

You Are Diggin' My Blog. You Amazingly Love This Post.
Gentle Readers:
I went to a Poetry Event and Praise Session Wednesday At Dallas International Street Church, on 2nd Avenue near Fair Park.
Also, I briefly went to Williams Chicken. The bulletproof glass is not very appealing. The food is just So-So. Very So-So).
Back to the facts about the Poetry Event (called The Poetic Minds), Dear Readers: I read part of a short story that I wrote ( a tale of sauciness and lust. The story is called A Guide To Perfect Unrequited Love ).
There were about 15 poets and readers who shared their work. I was glad to hear all poets. Since many poets talked about hardship and struggle, I was happy to hear each poem read by the writer who composed it, and to be reminded of the importance of having an enduring spirit. The web site for the Dallas International Street Church is: (Contains all kinds of information about the church and its activities): http://www.kdministries.org
Music Update: I've been listening to: N.P.R. (national public radio). This is not music. But I listen to the BBC dedicatedly every night. Then, I imitate their accents.
Also, I found a Gomez CD in my pile of rejected, and neglected CDs. I'm going to listen to it soon.
I've been using the exercise room at my apartment building.
Peace,
Alice

Drew Barrymore Is 35
Drew Barrymore is 35 today. Kudos to her for being older than me! Man, is she Over The Hill.
The exciting imagery above is of a Chinese lantern at the Forbidden Gardens Museum and Outdoor Extravaganza in Katy, Texas. I went there during the first week of February.
I took the photo on a very cold day.
I am: still learning the Para diddle. So I can be a Drumming Queen.

New Post! Whoa, I didn't want you to get that excited
Gentle Readers:
I am going to do a post soon.
I am learning what a Paradiddle is, in my drum class.
Last Wed. (Feb. 17), I took a picture of a homeless man who is always selling Street Zine (Joe Ponder). I may turn it into a magnet. I told him that I would buy a Street Zine next time I see him, and he said, "I won't argue with you!"
After I took Joe's picture, this other man nearby who had witnessed the whole thing asked if I wanted to take his picture, and I said: no, but maybe next time.
If you are in Dallas (Lucky You), then please attend: The Poetic Minds Poetry and Literary Reading. It is Wed. Feb. 24, at Dallas International Street Church, 2706
2nd Avenue, Dallas, 75210. The church is near downtown. It begins at 6:30 p.m.
I am getting a tiny bit tired of Dallas.

Post Post-Valentines Day
NBA All Star Event: I attended this event from Thursday-Sunday. Let me say right away, Cowboys Stadium in Arlington is huge. Its a massive, odd structure. I ended up parking in Wal Mart.
NBA Roundup: Dallas hosted a huge NBA event which brought a lot of people downtown. I attempted to talk to Jay Z and Puff Daddy, who were not interested in chatting. Jay Z was wearing really big sunglasses.
Also, another tidbit: I talked to a resume "expert" today who, more than a resume expert, was a Scam Artist. His name being Graham Caulfield. Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts.
Gotta go for now.

Aldi Job Event. Just the Facts, Ma'am.

Lonely Sign for Aldi: Where are all the eager cashiers?
Gentle Readers:
I attended a job event, or Hiring Event, at Aldi, a branch of a new grocery store chain opening some locations in Dallas soon. The following is my brief synopsis (Yes, I said Brief) Remember, these are solely my observations:
I got there about 7:30 (it started at 7:00). Upon entering, I was greeted by a super-caffienated but nice man in a suit.
While I was there I tried to notice how the other job seekers were dressed. One man was in jeans, one woman was in a dressy shirt, and the rest were not all that nicely dressed.
Extra item: I read in an article that the founders of Aldi are in their
80s. The German men (founders) are also private and reclusive, according to the article I found.
After filling out the application, I went to "The Table" to speak to a representative from Aldi. He will remain nameless, but, he had spiky hair and was very fast talking. He gave me the standard talk (was he getting tired of saying all that?). The Aldi representative never asked which location I would like to work at (there are 7 opening). It didn't seem like he was inviting questions. When I asked if there was a phone number I could call, he said that the company did not give out the number at job events. I then made the joke, "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You," and got no response.
So, Gentle Readers, I am suggesting that the reclusive, mum German founders might have had something to do with the reclusive, mum Recruiter.
There are more Hiring Events Feb. 9, 11, and 12 if you would like to attend. Also, be prepared to watch a gripping video.
Photos: the pictures were taken outside of Aldi on a very rainy morning. In case you want to use them as your wallpaper.

Another beautiful picture of the Aldi sign on Buckingham Road, in Garland.
Music listened to earlier: Walk Like an Egyptian (by the eternally saucy Bangles) and N.P.R. (National Public Radio). This is not music, only news, but I am supposed to be talking about me. So, another tidbit for you.
Gotta go. Practicing drums awaits. And More.

Blogging On Acid. Just Kidding.
Gentle Readers:
Brief tale from Wednesday: I was traveling to Houston by Greyhound and have the wrong date for my return trip on the ticket.
The first time I asked about changing it, an employee told me it was not a problem bc I have a round trip ticket. The second time I asked, another employee said I would have to pay $15 to change the date. When I told her that, in my opinion, that was silly and not what the employee had told me the day before, she said of the first Greyhound clerk, "People Lie." Then when I said something back, the portly girl and clerk said, "IT HAPPENS. PEOPLE LIE." I love receiving a side of life lessons and jerkiness along with my ticket!
Go and buy (if you can) The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, by Junot Diaz.
I am reading this, along with my other books.

Posting at Writing Class
Hi:
Had a crazy experience with a Richland College cop last week (Friday). His name was Christopher Downs. Very mean, aggressive and harassing. I will post more if I can.
If you see the latest issue of Street Zine (Feb. 2010), check out my ad , for The Magnet Project: http://www.themagnetproject.com Check it out.
Peace and love.

Hi Sexy Part II
Hello Lovely Readers:
Remember that everything happens for a reason. This is a little tidbit from the writing class at the homeless shelter (downtown Dallas): You never know if something that you write or say will inspire someone else.
The Bottom Line: Keep sharing what you write. (Even if you don't write, share what you know).
"Keep the Faith," this is from Trevor Suave Palacio, a visitor to the writing class today.
Gotta go. Gotta go sing "Gold Digger," by Kanye West.

Hi Sexy
Going to do a post soon.
For inquiring minds: the Kanye West song that I had in my head constantly (recently) was "Gold Digger." I'm probably going to butcher the lyrics, but: I Ain't Sayin' She's a Gold Digger, But She Ain't Lookin' For No Broke ... The song is from 2005. But, it all blurs together, does it not?
Gotta go, gentle readers. Also, am getting ready for an exciting Webinar.
Also, I'm tracking my traffic on this site now, so: If You Can Read This, I Can See You!!!

Quick post. Aren't You Lucky ? Keyword for this post: Snuggie. There is no reason.
Gentle readers:
Here is a quick post, straight out of Northern Texas (Didn't you know it was Geography Day?):
I have an English student (from Honduras, she is learning English) that I teach once a week. Today we role-played and discussed going to a restaurant.
For dessert, she accidentally ordered "Lemonade" pie instead of Lemon Pie. Dinner was roast beef ("carne asada," I think in Spanish).
She is super eager to learn, which is fun to watch.
Moving on: No music updates. I have had a Kanye West song stuck in my head. It plays over and over. Over and over and over.
Also: here is a good site to check out: Talks about World Farm Animal Day (already passed on Oct. 2, 2009). Not usually the type of site I would normally post, but I'm getting interested in such causes (long story). http://www.wfad.org/about/treatment.htm
No, I am not a vegetarian, just spurred on by a recent NPR report to learn more.
Peace and love.
Read a delicious book,
Alice

A Lovely Reader and Read This For Secretive Information About Snuggies
Thank you Jay, for your comments (for all others: this is to a friend from the Creative Writing class). I take it the trucking is going well. I'm glad you are reading my blog. Keep On Truckin!!! We miss you in the class.
Right now Dallas is rainy, gray, sad-looking, and balmy mixed with cold. Makes me want to curl up with my Snuggie! Snuggies are so Delicious. I advise you to get one if you do not currently have one.
Run, Snuggie-Deprived One, Run!
Now for a reading update: I am currently reading You Shall Know Our Velocity! By Dave Eggers and Have A Little Faith By Mitch Albom. They are both well-written. Sometimes I try to read books fast and it does not work. Often for me, reading in the bathroom (while brushing my teeth) or in the car is truly productive.
There are at least four other books that I want to be reading simultaneously. But, I have shelved those on the "To Read:" list.
Well, going to go for now.
Even Though Martin Luther King Day is not until Monday, honor him by going to Birmingham, Ala. and marching or something similar.

Hey Lovely Readers
Hi, Lovely Readers:
Just a quick post. I went to church today. The priest many jokes. Some of them people laughed at, and some of them they did not laugh at, like they were too scared to laugh.
You will go to He** if you laugh at the priest's jokes, apparently.
Go and drink a Naked Smoothie! They are refreshing and delicious.

Hi Lovely Readers. Going to do another post soon.
Here's the deal:
Going to divide this blog post into 3 topics:
They are: Posting Frequency, Sleepy Drivers and No Longer North Dallas Homegirl.
P. Frequency: will do another post soon.
Sleepy Drivers: People in Dallas (and surrounding areas--Garland, TX included) drive like they are half asleep. This is a Phenomenon I've noticed for a while. All you have to do is drive around Dallas for 5 whole minutes and you will notice. If said motorists are not driving like they are asleep, then they drive like they are a combination of: half asleep and super, Fly Off the Handle Angry at the same time. My conclusion is: It is blissful driving in Dallas.
I wish I could do it forever and ever and ever. Nonstop!
No Longer N.D.H.: I am no longer North Dallas Homegirl. I moved earlier this week (so am not homegirl--get it?). The apartment is nice but small. A penthouse with an unbeatable view. Laugh Out Loud.
So, I'll keep this blog until I can think of a better name.
Well, lots more to write, gentle readers, but I'll keep it concise for now.
Tired and want to rest my weary head.
Go and read a book!!!

Peace. Love your brother or sister (metaphorically, not the actual bro or sis).
